Drill bit stolen from construction site in Eureka

Sep 25, 2023

Eureka Police are investigating a theft from a commercial construction site in the 700 block of Howerton Lane. A 10-inch Wolverine auger drill bit for a skid steer worth about $1,900 was stolen from the site, police reported.

The theft occurred between April 20 and April 24. The drill bit belongs to a 70-year-old New Haven man whose company is working at the site, the report said.

As of May 5, the bit had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Lt. Michael Werges said. He asks anyone with information about the theft to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
