Wurth Bi

We got ahold of the Wurth 16-piece heavy-duty hole saw kit to see how it compared to some other kits we use regularly. The kit includes sizes ranging from 3/4″ to 3″(19mm-76mm) all packed in a sturdy ORSY carrying case.

This Wurth hole saw kit is packed with a couple of features that make it a force to be reckoned with. The Combination Vario teeth have an updated tooth design and are made of M42 bi-metal with 8% cobalt to make this an extremely efficient cutting tool.

What does this mean for you, though? These hole saws make a smooth cut even through tough materials. Easily cut through wood, plastic, and many other materials. Even stainless steel is on the menu. While Wurth primarily focuses on the automotive industry, this set would certainly work well for plumbers, electricians, and general contractors, too.

The Wurth bi-metal hole saw set includes many of the commonly used sizes as well as a 1/4-inch hex drive adapter for 19mm-25mm and a 1/2-inch drive adapter for 32mm-76mm. Note that the mandrel for the smaller sizes doesn't have the tabs that prevent overtightening, so they’re at greater risk of getting stuck.

The higher cobalt content adds strength and durability to the teeth but also increases the overall price over a basic high-speed steel set. On the other hand, it's not as expensive as a set with carbide-tipped teeth.

Wurth priced their hole saw kit around $110. Compared to similar options, that's in the mid-range for multi-piece kits.
